Local Attractions

Barry’s Bay is located in Madawaska Valley, Renfrew Country Ontario.  Known as the Polish Capital of Canada, the first Polish settlers arrived here in 1859.  The area retains much of it’s Polish roots in the Kaszuby, a beautiful lake region which attracts thousands of Polish tourists each summer. The stunning natural beauty of the area, however, draws visitors from across Ontario, Canada and the world.  Last summer our chip truck welcomed guests from Italy, Great Britain, Sweden, Germany, Japan, Israel, USA, and many more.  Algonquin Park, with its amazing opportunities for canoeing, camping, and animal spotting, is less than 40 minutes away.  Stop by the Visitor Information Booth just down the street from Polka Spudz for maps and details about all that this region has to offer.
